The EAA is asking the entire aviation community to participate; from individual pilots to flight schools, from flying clubs to aviation organizations, from FBO’s to the rest of the aviation industry. Everyone is encouraged to get involved on International Learn to Fly Day.
How you participate is up to you. It can be as easy as taking someone flying or as elaborate as hosting a fly-in. Be creative. The goal is simple: introduce someone new to aviation.
Once you have your plans in place, please submit your event to the Calendar of Events and tag it as “Learn to Fly Day” so that everyone will know your event is part of the celebration.
How to participate in Learn to Fly Day? Here are a few ideas to help you get started:
Submit an event.
Chapter participation is highly recommended; whether hosting a fly-in or simply taking someone flying. In an effort to get the entire aviation community involved, make a connection with a local flight school or FBO to collaborate on event plans and ideas. Once your plans are in place, please submit your event to the Calendar of Events and tag it as “Learn to Fly Day”.
EAA Chapter Resources While adult orientation flights are encouraged, they are not mandatory for any Learn to Fly Day activities. Revised guidelines for these flights, a frequently asked questions sheet, and the waiver form are available on the EAA website (see below). In addition, Chapters hosting an event should file the online Event Insurance Request Form which is also available on the EAA website.
